The Lonely Canary

The Lonely Canary

A canary stands alone at the highest branch of a tree.

None plays with him, although he really wants to do it.

He doesn’t have friends, neither one.
"I need to make friends," he thinks.

One day, an elephant stop by at canary’s tree.

“Hi, can we play together?  You can sit here, on my trunk,” the elephant offers.

Canary says NO.

“You don’t have wings. You can’t be my friend,”

Another second, a giraffe stop by.

“Hi, can we chat? I can easily do that with my long neck,” the giraffe offers.

Canary says NO.

“You don’t have wings. You can’t be my friend,”

Then a bird stops by.

It is a crow saying,”Hi. Can we play together?  I have wings. We are birds, aren’t we?”

But, canary still says NO.

“Look at you! You are black, while I’m yellow. We are different. You can’t be my friend!”

Everyone sighs. They just want to have fun, but canary keeps rejecting them.

Finally, a little canary stops by.

“Hi. We are same. Let’s play together!”

And you know what? The canary keeps saying NO, NO, NO, and NO.

“You are a little canary. I am the big one. You can’t be my friend,”

The Canary stands alone until the end of his life.

If only he didn’t focus on the difference.

If only he focused on the purpose.
It's a pity that he couldn't experience the joy of having friends and the fun of playing together.
